Overview

The Axel Group is seeking a Design Engineer for our client's team. This opportunity is with a civil engineering organization supporting land development and structural design projects. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of engineering practices, applicable regulations and codes, as well as strong communication and technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform site inspections and attend field meetings.
• Assist project managers and professional engineers with land development designs and the structural design of various structures.
• Gather data from applicable regulations and available mapping to prepare project base maps.
• Prepare basic design criteria, including grading plans, construction details, zoning analyses and stormwater management designs.
• Assist with reviewing site plan applications.
• Apply knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products to support project work.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of engineering practices, principles, applicable regulations and codes.
• Experience with site inspections, grading and stormwater management design.
• Experience with AutoCAD preferred.
• Knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D and Microsoft Office products.
• EIT certification preferred but not required.
• Zero to two years of prior work experience preferred, or an accredited Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, surveying, planning or another technical discipline aligned with the organization’s work.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and report-writing skills.
• Public speaking experience is a plus.

Compensation

• Salary: Up to $75,000 per year.
