Overview:
The Axel Group is seeking a Professional Surveyor & Mapper for our client's team. This role offers an exciting leadership opportunity within a growing survey department focused on civil, land development, and infrastructure projects. The company is a multidisciplinary engineering and land development firm dedicated to shaping local communities through innovative projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee field survey crews performing boundary, topographic, construction layout, and related surveying services.
  • Review field data, plats, legal descriptions, survey calculations, and final deliverables for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Provide clear direction to field crews and coordinate daily activities, schedules, equipment needs, and project priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal drafting/CAD teams to ensure accurate and timely survey deliverables.
  • Coordinate with civil engineering, land planning, landscape architecture, and construction teams on project requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, municipal agencies, title companies, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Support project scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and operational planning for survey services.
  • Ensure adherence to Florida survey standards, regulations, and company quality procedures.
  • Sign and seal survey documents as required.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-conscious team environment.

Requirements:

  • Active Florida Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) license required.
  • Ability to obtain or maintain licensure in good standing.
  • Preferred experience overseeing survey crews and coordinating operations.
  • Background supporting land development, civil engineering, construction, infrastructure, commercial, residential, or municipal projects is highly valued.
  • Well-versed in boundary, topographic, construction, ALTA/NSPS, and related survey services.
  • Strong knowledge of survey field methods, data collection, calculations, plats, and legal descriptions.
  • Excellent communication skills with field personnel, engineers, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with survey technology, GPS/GNSS, robotic total stations, and related equipment is preferred.

Compensation:
Salary range: $90,000 – $130,000, commensurate with experience, licensure, and technical capabilities.
