Overview:
The Axel Group is seeking an Environmental Scientist for our client's team. This organization operates within the Environmental Services industry and is dedicated to conducting environmental assessments, site investigations, and remediation projects. The role involves supporting various phases of environmental site assessments and providing critical data collection and analysis to ensure regulatory compliance and environmental safety.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct field investigations, site inspections, and environmental sampling of soil, groundwater, and other media
• Coordinate laboratory analysis of collected samples
• Assist with soil borings, installation, development, and sampling of monitoring wells
• Perform field screening and document subsurface and site conditions
• Support Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and remediation activities
• Review and organize laboratory analytical data and prepare technical reports
• Research applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including NJDEP requirements
• Prepare field documentation, sampling logs, reports, maps, and other project deliverables
• Assist project managers with environmental projects, schedules, and client deliverables
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental protocols

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
• 0–3 years of relevant experience; internships and field experience preferred
• 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred or ability to obtain
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and analytical skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil3D, GIS, or Adobe Acrobat is a plus
• Ability to perform outdoor field work and travel to project sites throughout New Jersey and surrounding areas
• Ability to use common environmental field equipment and perform basic mathematical calculations

Compensation:
$45,000.00 - $75,000.00 annually
