Overview:
The Axel Group is seeking a Cost Systems Manager for our client's team in the construction industry. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee cost control systems, analyze construction costs and profits, and work collaboratively with various teams to drive cost improvements and ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction cost management and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Support the team in analyzing and controlling construction costs and profits for all homes within the division.
• Manage a cost control system that effectively and accurately measures costs and production variances, enabling precise projections of operating results.
• Collaborate with divisional, regional, and corporate peers to drive continuous improvement in costs, processes, and systems, and ensure consistency of costing methods across the company.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, seek new subcontractors, and negotiate agreements to maximize value, quality, and delivery.
• Update and maintain sales, pricing, and cost information for all active and future communities.
• Project costs for new home designs and product offerings as part of the division’s business plan.
• Review plans for standardization of components, options, and construction methods.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in purchasing, estimating, or a related field.
• Prior experience with costing in the homebuilding or construction industry is preferred.
• Experience with sourcing and bidding is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with MarkSystems and ITK is a plus but not required.

Compensation:
Salary range up to $115,000 annually.
