Overview:

The Axel Group is seeking a CAD Technician for our client's team. This company specializes in residential and commercial site development projects, focusing on underground utility and pavement infrastructure. The ideal candidate will provide design and drafting support to assist in engineering projects related to these areas.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine assignments requiring judgment to resolve issues or make recommendations.
• Utilize Civil 3D software to create accurate drafting and annotation of construction drawings and exhibits.
• Complete redline mark-up modifications of existing drawings as directed by senior staff.
• Produce topographical profiles, alignments, cross sections, surfaces, earthwork volume calculations, and grading plans with assistance from senior designers or project managers.
• Prepare quantity take-offs from conceptual drawings and final construction plans using Civil 3D, as well as hand calculations.
• Work under guidance of engineers or senior designers to meet project deadlines.
• Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner to serve clients and contribute to company goodwill and profit.
• Ability to work overtime and travel overnight as needed.

Requirements:

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Certification in CAD software; experience with Civil 3D is highly prioritized.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D workflows including label styles, alignments, profiles, pipe networks, and data shortcuts, along with basic AutoCAD drafting functions.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing multi-step tasks.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office and email.
• Ability to apply common sense instructions effectively.

Compensation:
Salary range up to $70,000 annually.

Additional Details:

• Ability to work overtime and travel overnight is required.
