Overview:
The Axel Group is seeking a Scheduling Manager for our client's team. This company specializes in construction projects and is looking for an experienced scheduling professional to oversee project timelines from start to finish. The ideal candidate will partner closely with project teams to develop, maintain, and analyze schedules, ensuring projects stay on track and potential risks are identified early.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop preliminary schedules during estimating and preconstruction phases.
  • Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents to build detailed baseline schedules after project award.
  • Ensure schedules incorporate project milestones, contractual requirements, procurement needs, construction sequencing, and field conditions.
  • Review project schedules for logic, duration, sequencing, and critical activities.
  • Support project teams with regular updates, progress tracking, forecasting, and three-week look-ahead planning.
  • Monitor critical paths, identify schedule risks, delays, and potential impacts early.
  • Develop recovery schedules and mitigation plans when projects fall behind schedule.
  • Analyze the impact of changes, procurement delays, and field issues on project completion dates.
  • Provide schedule documentation and analysis to support project management, time-extension requests, and claims.
  • Develop and maintain scheduling standards, templates, and training materials across the company.
  • Create reporting dashboards for executive leadership to monitor project portfolios.
  • Identify scheduling trends, resource constraints, and upcoming bottlenecks.
  • Train and coach team members on scheduling best practices to foster proactive planning and accountability.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of construction scheduling experience, preferably with a commercial general contractor.
  • Experience supporting complex commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, subcontractor coordination, procurement, and field operations.
  • Solid understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM), baseline schedule development, updates, and forecasting.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project scopes.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively with both office and field personnel.
  • Ability to translate schedule data into practical, actionable plans.

Compensation:
Salary up to $115,000.00 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Additional Details:
Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
