The Axel Group is seeking a QA Associate to join our client’s team in Columbus, Ohio. Our client is a well-established provider of engineered construction and building support solutions serving commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects across the Midwest.

The QA Associate is responsible for inspecting fabricated products throughout the production process to ensure they meet project specifications and customer requirements. This role works closely with fabrication, project management, warehouse, and shipping teams to identify and resolve issues before products are delivered to the customer.

• Inspect fabricated products for dimensions, hole locations, cuts, welds, finishes, and overall workmanship.
• Read blueprints, shop drawings, and cut lists to verify the finished product matches what was ordered.
• Perform in-process and final inspections before material is packaged or shipped.
• Use basic measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, and squares.
• Identify non-conforming material or fabrication errors and document the issue.
• Work with fabrication employees and supervisors to correct quality problems before shipment.
• Verify incoming materials meet specifications and aren't damaged.
• Maintain inspection records, QA checklists, and documentation for completed jobs.
• Help investigate customer complaints, returns, or incorrectly fabricated material to determine what went wrong.
• Make sure products are properly labeled, packaged, and matched to the correct project/order.
• Assist with quality procedures and continuous improvement, especially recurring fabrication or shipping errors.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, fabrication, warehouse, and shipping so the correct product gets to the customer.

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in quality assurance, fabrication, manufacturing, or a related environment required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications
• Experience using basic measuring tools and equipment
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with production, warehouse, and project teams

• Hourly Rate: $25–$30/hour
• First Shift: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
