Overview:
The Axel Group is seeking a Project Manager for our client's team. This company is a well-established privately owned construction firm specializing in commercial, industrial, municipal, and infrastructure projects. The role involves managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects, including roadway construction, utilities, and stormwater systems, primarily in the Southwest Florida region. The successful candidate will oversee projects from planning through execution, ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance, with opportunities for long-term leadership within the department.
Responsibilities:
- Manage large-scale civil infrastructure projects, including FDOT roadway and signalization work.
- Oversee stormwater, drainage, water, and utility piping projects ranging from 20 to 60 inches in diameter.
- Handle planning, scheduling, budgeting, and full project execution.
- Serve as the primary liaison with municipalities, FDOT, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Monitor compliance with FDOT, municipal, and county regulations, including monthly updates and rule changes.
- Ensure quality control, adherence to specifications, and strong field execution.
- Track progress and report on budget, schedule, and project milestones.
- Coordinate subcontractors and supervise internal staff.
- Maintain safety standards and enforce OSHA compliance on site.
- Prepare and submit project documentation, reports, and schedules.
- Mentor and develop staff as part of a future succession plan.
Requirements:
- 5 to 10 years of experience in FDOT roadway construction, municipal infrastructure, and utilities.
- Strong knowledge of FDOT specifications, municipal rules, and public sector construction requirements.
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Procore.
- Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred, though equivalent field experience will be considered.
Compensation:
- Base salary: $120,000 to $150,000, depending on experience.
- Performance-based bonus, typically equivalent to three weeks' pay or more.
- 401(k) plan with 4% company matching contribution.
- Vehicle allowance of $650 per month plus weekly fuel reimbursement.
- Cell phone allowance of $100 per month.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance, with 100% employee coverage and optional family coverage.
- Paid time off includes 2 weeks PTO, 6 sick days, and all holidays.

Salary Range Required: $120,000 to $150,000 per year, with a high of $150,000.
