Overview:
The Axel Group is seeking an Environmental Scientist for our client's team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within the environmental services industry, focusing on site assessments, remediation support, and regulatory compliance. The role involves managing field programs, preparing technical and regulatory documents, and supporting complex environmental projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare technical and regulatory deliverables, including Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Preliminary Assessment Reports, Remedial Investigation/Remedial Action reports, Deed Notices, and Classified Exception Area (CEA) documentation.
  • Manage field programs for soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion investigations, coordinating subcontractors and multi-disciplinary field teams.
  • Develop conceptual site models and evaluate contaminant fate and transport using analytical and statistical methods.
  • Support remediation strategies and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee project management tasks such as budgeting, scheduling, client communication, and internal workflow coordination to deliver projects timely and in accordance with NJDEP and LSRP oversight.
  • Support complex remediation and redevelopment projects from investigation through closure, utilizing NJDEP guidance and due diligence processes in NJ and NY.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in managing field investigations and preparing technical/regulatory documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of NJDEP guidance, regulations, and due diligence processes across NJ and NY.
  • Project management experience including budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.
  • Ability to develop conceptual site models and evaluate contaminant behavior.
  • Excellent coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.

Compensation:
Salary range up to $90,000.00 annually.
