The Assistant Superintendent oversees the construction of multiple residential homes from start to finish. You'll manage subcontractors, schedules, inspections, and overall job site operations to ensure homes are built safely, on time, and to quality standards. The position also involves working directly with homeowners throughout the build process, providing updates and ensuring a positive customer experience.
We're open to candidates from a variety of construction backgrounds, not just homebuilding! The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of professional construction related experience or a relevant college degree, along with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and an interest in managing projects, coordinating teams, and delivering a quality product.
- Oversee residential construction projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule goals are met.
- Coordinate subcontractors and manage daily job site activities throughout all phases of construction.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure work meets plans, specifications, and building code requirements.
- Communicate with homeowners throughout the build process, providing updates and addressing concerns.
- Manage project timelines, quality control, and overall customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate warranty-related repairs and follow-up activities after closing.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and issue resolution.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional job site environment.
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in construction, project coordination, field operations, or a related industry
- OR a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and mobile technology
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and project specifications
- Understanding of construction processes, job site operations, and building standards
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in an active construction environment, including walking job sites and conducting inspections
- Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
