The Axel Group is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our client’s growing team. This opportunity is ideal for an organized and detail-oriented professional looking to build their career within a collaborative and fast-paced law firm environment. The selected candidate will play an integral role in supporting attorneys and legal staff while delivering exceptional service to clients throughout the litigation process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support to attorneys and staff handling personal injury matters.
- Draft, edit, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and other case-related materials.
- Coordinate attorney calendars, including scheduling client meetings, depositions, court appearances, and consultations.
- Prepare and electronically file legal documents with state and federal courts.
- Maintain and organize both electronic and physical case files to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Serve as a professional point of contact for clients, courts, opposing counsel, and outside vendors.
- Monitor case deadlines and assist in ensuring all filings and tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Support client intake and onboarding by gathering and organizing necessary documentation.
- Request, review, and maintain medical records, reports, and other supporting case materials.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and phone calls.
- Assist with billing, expense tracking, and additional administrative responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
- One or more years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Administrative Assistant, or in a similar law firm setting preferred.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and electronic filing systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
