Overview:
The Axel Group is seeking a CAD Drafter for our client's team. This role involves supporting architectural projects through detailed drafting and technical documentation. The ideal candidate will bring 2–5 years of professional experience in an architectural setting, with a focus on producing accurate, detailed drawings for a variety of project types focusing in K-12 Education.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare precise 2D drawings using AutoCAD, and Revit if applicable, covering all project phases from schematic design to construction documents.
- Revise and update architectural plans, sections, elevations, and details based on redlines, markups, or design modifications.
- Collaborate with project architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure drawing accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain organized drawing files and adhere to CAD standards.
- Assist with creating as-built drawings, field measurements, and construction documentation.
- Support the development of permit and bid sets in compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Contribute to the development of drawing templates, blocks, and CAD standards to optimize efficiency.
- Participate in internal design coordination meetings and provide drafting input during design development.
Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree in Architecture, Drafting & Design, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of professional architectural drafting experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with Revit, SketchUp, or Bluebeam is a plus.
- Strong understanding of architectural terminology, building systems, and construction documentation.
- Knowledge of local building codes and basic construction methods.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Compensation:
Please note: The salary for this position is up to $60,000 annually.
Additional Details:
Candidates with experience in commercial, institutional, or multifamily projects, familiarity with BIM workflows, and experience producing millwork details, finish plans, or reflected ceiling plans are preferred.
