Overview:
The Axel Group is seeking a Business Development Manager for our client's team. This organization specializes in construction and fabrication, focusing on growth and industry development. The role involves driving strategic initiatives, building industry relationships, and supporting long-term market expansion to position the company for ongoing success across multiple sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with owners, developers, consultants, architects, engineers, and construction professionals.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across targeted market sectors.
  • Engage in early project discussions to help position the company’s services during conceptual and preconstruction phases.
  • Collaborate with operations, estimating, and leadership teams to align business development strategies with company growth objectives.
  • Support proposal preparation, client presentations, interviews, and marketing efforts.
  • Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, conferences, and trade organizations.
  • Manage and track business development activities, pipeline opportunities, and forecasting.
  • Contribute to strategic marketing initiatives including digital content, social media, and promotional materials.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships through consistent communication and follow-up.
  • Understand client objectives and coordinate internal resources to develop tailored solutions.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, preconstruction, or client relations within the construction, engineering, manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills capable of building credibility across stakeholder groups.
  • Experience participating in client meetings, presentations, and project pursuits.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience managing pipelines, CRM systems, or forecasting tools.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel locally or regionally as needed for meetings and industry events.
  • Preferred: Existing relationships within the construction, development, design, or real estate industries; experience supporting design-build, fabrication, manufacturing, or specialty construction; familiarity with preconstruction processes and early-stage project planning.

Compensation:
Salary range up to $175,000 plus bonuses
