The Axel Group is seeking an Area Sales Manager to join our client’s team out of Horry County, South Carolina. This builder is ranked as one of the nation’s top homebuilders and operates across 33 states and 113 markets in the United States.
The Area Sales Manager will lead and manage the regional sales team to achieve and surpass divisional sales objectives. This role is responsible for overseeing team performance, executing strategic sales initiatives, monitoring market conditions, and ensuring compliance with company policies while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
The ideal candidate has experience at a comparable home builder managing a team of Sales Consultants, OR has experience at a real estate brokerage with experience leading a sales team or managing real estate agents.
Sales Leadership & Team Management
  • Manage and supervise all sales staff within the assigned geographic area.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, and develop Sales Representatives and Sales Assistants.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work while monitoring individual and team performance.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with sales team members and area leadership.
  • Coach and mentor sales employees through instruction, role-playing, and interactive discussion.
  • Establish clear job expectations and performance goals for all sales team members.
  • Evaluate performance, provide recognition for milestones achieved, and address performance concerns when necessary.
  • Develop sales contests and incentive programs to motivate the sales team.
  • Enforce company policies and ensure all business is conducted in a professional and ethical manner.
Sales Performance & Strategy
  • Develop and implement the division’s sales strategy and oversee execution of all sales plans.
  • Hold the sales team accountable for meeting or exceeding established sales goals.
  • Oversee grand openings and new community or phase releases.
  • Create and implement sales incentives to drive traffic and conversion within communities.
  • Monitor sales activity and ensure consistent engagement with the company CRM system.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
  • Conduct thorough market research within the division’s trading area to remain current on market conditions and opportunities.
  • Visit competitor communities to gather market intelligence.
  • Perform competitive analysis on product offerings, pricing, features, and neighborhood amenities.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to division leadership based on market findings.
Marketing & Realtor Engagement
  • Partner with the Marketing Department and division leadership to develop and execute advertising strategies.
  • Collaborate with Sales Representatives on marketing promotions and campaigns.
  • Build relationships with the local real estate community through outreach initiatives such as realtor breakfasts, lunches, and office presentations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, preferred
  • 5+ years of new home sales experience, required
  • Sales experience at a home builder, preferred
  • 2+ years of sales management experience, with focus on sales coaching and training, required
  • Active South Carolina Estate License
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM and other systems
Benefits:
  • Base Salary + Bonus, total compensation ranging from $200,000 – 220,000
