Senior Accountant – Monmouth County, NJ
 
Our client, a family-owned environmental services and manufacturing company near Wall, NJ, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance team and lead their month end close process. Responsibilities:
  • Own complete month-end close from invoicing through final sign-off 
  • Generate invoices and post revenue across multiple divisions
  • Manage project cost accounting including job costing, tracking costs by project/division, and profitability analysis
  • Manage AP/AR including vendor payments, collections, and aging reports
  • Perform bank and inventory reconciliations; investigate variances
  • Calculate COGS including materials, labor, and overhead allocation
  • Process payroll for 130+ employees and post journal entries
  • Record depreciation, accruals, prepaid expenses, and intercompany entries
  • Generate trial balances and P&L by division
  • Conduct variance analysis (actual vs budget) and coordinate with operations
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and review with CFO
  • Utilize Sage Intacct ERP system for all accounting processes
  • Support audits and mentor team members as needed
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 5-7 years accounting experience with career progression and leadership experience
  • Heavy month-end close experience – must have owned full process
  • Manufacturing/inventory accounting background strongly preferred
  • Project cost accounting or job costing experience preferred
  • Multi-divisional accounting experience required
  • Sage Intacct or similar ERP proficiency
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • GAAP knowledge and practical application
  • CPA preferred but not required

Salary:
  • Up to $95,000 (depending on experience) + performance bonus
