Project Accountant Our client, a well-established General Contractor in Stamford, CT is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join their growing team! This successful company specializes in multi-family residential developments, golf club facilities, and K-12 educational projects ranging from $5-25 million. Manage AIA billing processes and prepare monthly progress billings for multiple construction projects
Set up and maintain project budgets, cost codes, and financial tracking systems
Review and process subcontractor requisitions and vendor invoices
Track and manage change orders, updating budgets and forecasts accordingly
Monitor project costs against budgets and communicate variances to Project Managers
Oversee subcontractor payment processes and ensure proper documentation
Generate monthly job cost reports for Project Managers and executives
Assist with project forecasting and cost-to-complete analysis
Support project closeout activities and final payment reconciliation
Work with projects ranging from $5-25 million with exposure to larger $80 million developments
Project Accountant Requirements:
Minimum 3-8 years of project accounting experience in construction industry
Strong experience with AIA billing processes and construction accounting principles
Proficiency with CMiC software (or similar construction ERP systems)
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Experience with subcontractor management and payment processes
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
