The Axel Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent to lead the on-site construction of multifamily and/or mixed-use projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully running job sites from start to finish, maintaining construction schedules, managing subcontractors, and delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. You will be the primary point of contact on site, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity standards are met throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily on-site construction activities and supervise all field personnel and subcontractors.
Manage project schedule and sequencing to ensure timely completion.
Coordinate inspections, material deliveries, and subcontractor mobilization.
Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications.
Enforce job site safety and cleanliness standards in accordance with OSHA and company policies.
Proactively identify and resolve issues that could affect the schedule or quality of work.
Conduct daily and weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors and internal teams.
Communicate regularly with the project management team regarding progress, delays, and changes.
Maintain detailed field documentation including daily logs, safety reports, and quality control checklists.
Ensure compliance with local codes, permitting processes, and inspection requirements.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Superintendent in ground-up construction.
Demonstrated experience leading multifamily and/or mixed-use projects valued at $20M+.
Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes, scheduling, and safety practices.
Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
Experience with project management software (Procore, MS Project, or similar).
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
OSHA 30 Certification required; First Aid/CPR preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $120,000 – $160,000 base
Bonus Structure: Performance-based bonuses tied to project milestones and completion.
