The project engineer position is an integral part of the project and works with project management and field management to construct a safe and quality product while remaining under budget, improving operating profits, and maintaining excellent customer relations.
Responsibilities: - Negotiates with vendors/subcontractors and issues purchase orders/contracts. - Coordinates, reviews, and submits working drawings andensures that subcontractors submit certified payrolls, monthly project workforce reports, EEO paperwork, and other required documents in a timely fashion. - Actively participates in the preparation of look ahead schedules and monthly schedule updates. - Reviews and approves foreperson’s time cards and diaries. - Prepares force account billing. - Visits site daily and meets with crews and subcontractors. - Reviews material needs and schedules deliveries.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management and/or 1+ years of relevant experience. - Heavy civil construction experience is required. - Specific experience with earthwork, utilities, and paving is a plus. - Specific experience with bridges and structures is a plus. - Teamwork, communications, and people skills are a must. - Great time management skills. - Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, HCSS HeavyBid/HeavyJob, Vista. - Working knowledge of Primavera P6 is a plus. - Working knowledge of estimating, engineering, and cost tracking is a plus.
