The Axel Group is currently seeking a sharp and driven Estimator to join a well-established demolition and concrete cutting contractor based in Largo, FL!
Our client has been a trusted name in the environmental abatement and demolition industry for nearly two decades. Known for their safety-first approach and quick-turn responsiveness, they specialize in concrete cutting, selective/interior demolition, and hazardous material abatement across Florida. With a tight-knit team and strong leadership, they’ve built lasting relationships with both private and public sector clients.
As Estimator, this individual will work directly out of the Largo office, collaborating closely with the Senior Estimator and Owner. You’ll be responsible for reviewing project scopes, performing takeoffs, developing cost estimates, coordinating with vendors, and preparing proposals specific to concrete cutting and demo work. This is a high-impact role with direct exposure to leadership and strong opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities
- Requires average input to accounting for the use of our resources, plus a reasonable profit margin to calculate total price as well performing risk assessments too account for potential deviations from the project plan.
- Collecting all pertinent documents including property plans, technical drawings and project specifications.
- Studying documentation, meeting with customers, and inspecting the construction site to fully understand what work is required.
- Deciding on the most appropriate human and material resources for each project.
- Obtaining multiple quotes for each of these and then selecting the most suitable offers.
- Negotiating with service providers to secure better prices.
- Outlining the work plan to gauge how much time will be needed to complete each job task and phase.
- Drafting proposals that detail envisaged materials, costs and time frames.
- Meeting with clients to discuss their thoughts and concerns about our offers.
- May need to travel to project sites and/or client meetings.
Personal Attributes
- Qualification in project management is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience as an Estimator, with 2+ years experience.
- Ability to forecast the cost of high-ticket times involved in job projects.
- Knowledge of relevant technical and nontechnical documents.
- Exceptional quantitative skills.
- Ability to negotiate with seasoned customer personal.
- Dependable, conscientious, and well-spoken.
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management principles.
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
- Good knowledge of MS Office.
- Outstanding communication and negotiations skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientations
- High School Diploma required.
