We’re seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to join a well-established engineering and consulting firm. This role involves overseeing active construction projects to ensure quality, safety, and compliance, while maintaining strong client and contractor relationships. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of construction practices, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects from inspection to documentation.
Construction Inspector
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect construction contracts related to current projects for compliance with specifications and standards.
Review contract plans and specifications for constructability, noting errors, omissions, and potential problem areas.
Plan, schedule, coordinate, and complete site inspections.
Coordinate construction-related system outages with client facilities.
Prepare complete inspection reports and maintain daily tracking records.
Maintain organized project files, including photo documentation.
Keep detailed records of construction progress, changed conditions, and as-built drawings.
Prepare monthly estimates of construction quantities completed.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, consultants, and owners.
Oversee the work and performance of Senior, Mid, and Junior Construction Inspectors.
Mentor and train Junior Inspectors to ensure consistent performance standards.
Review operational procedures to ensure compliance with policies, best practices, and performance measures.
Lead project meetings within assigned discipline or area of expertise.
Characteristics & Expertise:
Strong knowledge of current construction principles and practices, with the ability to address complex issues and unique conditions.
Skilled at managing multiple projects or serving as an in-house expert for a specific market segment.
Remains current on new methods and developments affecting the division, recommending improvements to standards and practices.
Proactive in problem-solving, resourceful, and focused on delivering results.
Demonstrates professionalism and the ability to interact effectively with clients.
Preferred Certifications/Licenses:
NICET Level III Certification
Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
