Construction Coordinator – The Axel Group (Monmouth County, NJ)

About the Role

Our client, a well-established custom countertop company based in Monmouth County, NJ, is seeking a Construction Coordinator to join their team. This role is key to ensuring smooth and efficient project execution—from initial client consultation in the showroom to final installation. You’ll collaborate closely with homeowners, contractors, and internal teams to keep jobs on schedule and customers satisfied.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client & Project Coordination
  • Greet customers in the showroom after material selections have been made to ensure all necessary decisions have been completed and begin the templating and installation scheduling.
  • Manage project details and serve as the communication bridge between homeowners, builders, and field teams
  • Schedule templating appointments and confirm site readiness with contractors
  • Review job layouts and secure necessary approvals from clients
  • Scheduling & Installation Logistics
  • Create and manage install schedules, ensuring alignment between contractors, installers, and internal teams
  • Track and coordinate all phases from field measurements to final installation
  • Communicate changes and updates effectively to all stakeholders
  • Customer Communication & Problem Resolution
  • Set clear, realistic expectations with customers about scheduling and project timelines
  • Manage common delays due to field conditions or contractor shifts, while maintaining a positive client relationship
  • Proactively resolve conflicts or concerns, acting as the key point of contact throughout the project lifecycle
  • Stay calm and professional when working with high-expectation or frustrated clients
  • Field & Administrative Support
  • Occasionally conduct job site visits to verify details or support issue resolution (minimal travel required)
  • Maintain up-to-date project documentation including schedules, approvals, change orders, and communication logs
  • Work closely with estimators, production, and install teams to keep projects moving forward

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination, scheduling, or customer service in a construction or home improvement setting
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to manage multiple priorities and tight timelines
  • Familiarity with stone countertops, sinks, backsplashes, and construction terminology preferred
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and scheduling software
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional field visits
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods as needed in showroom or site visits

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 annually
• Benefits not provided
• Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule
