The Axel Group is seeking an experienced Architect to join our client’s team out of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. This reputable firm is the nation’s leader in designing and developing clean room systems for Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Medical Device, and Microelectronics industries.
This role will focus on the design of advanced technical facilities during early project phases and will report directly to the Director of Process Architecture. This position offers professional growth through complex, rewarding projects and diverse development opportunities.
Key responsibilities include guiding clients through conceptual design, coordinating interdisciplinary teams, and contributing to thought leadership and marketing efforts. The role emphasizes creative problem-solving and delivering tailored design solutions.
Additionally, this position will foster collaboration and learning across teams, engage in industry training, and lead internal knowledge-sharing sessions. Staying current with regulations, cGMPs, and industry trends is essential. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the company’s high standards in process design and innovation.
Develops compliant process architectural concepts aligned with client needs, cleanroom standards, and cGMP guidelines
Collaborates with the Director of Process Architecture on design development and iterative problem-solving
Produces deliverables such as equipment layouts, GMP flow diagrams, and design reports
Supports broader facility design and coordination with other departments
Assists in system component selection and construction estimate development
Manages project timelines, budgets, and change control for successful delivery
Interfaces with clients and leads interdisciplinary collaboration with strong communication skills
Manages multiple projects concurrently and ensures alignment through regular updates to the Director
Contributes to design proposals and may travel to support project delivery
Attends industry events and training to expand technical expertise
Supports development of thought leadership content and internal educational sessions
Engages in continuous improvement and corrective action processes
Applies established quality management practices to all projects
Participates in quality reviews and ensures adherence to cleanroom and process design standards
Acts as a client-facing leader and subject-matter expert in cleanroom design
Leads interdisciplinary teams during conceptual phases
Identifies efficiency improvements and supports a culture of innovation and growth
Requirements:
Salary: $100 - 150,000
Bachelor of Architecture degree from accredited program, required
Master of Architecture, preferred
7+ Years of experience in Architectural & Engineering (A&E), required
Professional Licensure, preferred (multiple states a plus)
NCARB Certification preferred, LEED Certification a plus
Highly experienced in the design, coordination and construction of life-science facilities
Proven track record of successful delivering architectural projects from concept through construction administration
